Green Lantern, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, TV DVD News, S. Darko, Nottingham, Comic Previews

Green Lantern

IGN spoke with Michael Green about the often counted out 2010 film. Green said: "From what I understand, they're edging towards making the movie. Warner Bros. doesn't do greenlights the way a lot of places do. They sort of always inch towards it, so there's never a day where they're like, 'Boom! Magic bomb! We're greenlit!' But we've had very good conversations with them. From what I'm told, they really like the last script we gave them and are hoping to find a way to make it, which would be thrilling."

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Comic Book Resources says here that the release date has been moved up to April 29, 2009.

TV DVD News has posted info about "iCarly" (Season 1, Vol. 2) here, "The Adventures of Black Beauty" (Season 1) here, "Lipstick Jungle" (Season 2) here, "Andy Richter Controls the Universe" (Complete Series) here, "Dallas" (Season 11) here, "Knots Landing" (Season 2) here.

S. Darko

SlashFilm says here that the "Donnie Darko" sequel will go direct to DVD. Here is the official synopsis: "Samantha Darko (Daveigh Chase) and her rebellious best friend Corey Richardson (Briana Evigan) leave on a cross-country road trip to Los Angeles in an attempt to ‘make it big’. Their dreams are cut short when their water pump blows outside of a tiny Utah town. Unable to leave until their car is fixed, Sam and Corey are stranded with the locals until their car’s fixed. Sam and Corey are less than thrilled at the delay, and when an unexplained meteorite crash-lands in town that night, it soon becomes clear that there is much more at play than just a chance breakdown. Plagued by bizarre hallucinatory dreams warning her of the universe’s imminent end, as well as grief over her own loss of family, Sam must face the demons she had fled back at home. Aided by the unlikely town locals, Sam learns the true meaning of family and friendship, and in doing so, saves only herself."

After missed cues and other problems The Guardian says here that the film is about to start production. The papers' Jobs section says: "Construction Accountant needed for large US studio film. Position requires previous experience as Construction Accountant for a US major studio. Applicant will be responsible for set estimating and processing of all payroll, petty cash, purchase orders and accounts payable for the construction department. Position is based from Shepperton Studios. Start date is immediate."
