Hellboy 2: The Golden Army

Comic Book Resourses News has posted an article here with Ron Perlman talking about the film.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

During the Writer's Strike Joss Whedon kept himself and some friends busy with a 36 minute long musical internet project that is now just about done. He spoke to SCI FI Wire in an article here saying: "It's about a low-rent supervillain [Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Horrible] who's trying to get into the Evil League of Evil and defeat his nemesis, Captain Hammer [Nathan Fillion] and work up the nerve to talk to the pretty girl at the laundromat [Felicia Day]. It's an idea I had a while ago, that I thought would be just right for a weird little Internet venture. I wrote it with my brothers [Zack and Jed Whedon] and my brother [Jed's] fiancée [Maurissa Tancharoen] and somehow got the best actors I know to just jump in, which was very scary for all of us. We got this amazing crew. Everybody just sort of said, 'We'll just jump on,' and in six days we shot this 36-minute, three-part oddity, which I think is the most fun I've had in about seven years. We're literally just finishing it. And then we're going to show it to my people at CAA and a bunch of other people and discuss 'How do we go about this? Where is the venue for this?'" Whedon that that the short will appear first on the Internet, then be released on iTunes and DVD. The official fan website for the show is here, while Whedon's own blog about it is here.

TV DVD News

TVShowsOnDVD.com has posted info about "Two Fat Ladies" (Best of...) here, "The Outer Limits" (Complete Original Series) here, "Doctor Who" (Mega Set) here, "Til Death Do Us Part" (Season 1) here, "Lonesome Dove" (Mini Series) here, "Cannon" (Season 1, Vol. 1) here, and "Jake and the Fatman" (Season 1, Vol. 1) here.

Fox Cuts Commercials

Fox Broadcasting has a revolutionary plan for its new dramas "Fringe" and "Dollhouse." They will cut the number of commercials and promos in them to half the usual amount. Peter Liguori, Fox Entertainment Chairman, said that: "We're going to have less reason for viewers to use the remote. It's a simple concept and potentially revolutionary. We're going to redefine the viewing experience." BTW: Entertainment Weekly spoke to Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku from "Dollhouse" here.

AFTRA Agreement Close

AFTRA President Roberta Reardon has announced: "We're making progress," rather than it was all over as most of the trade papers were reporting. Still most observers are certain that the two sides will reach an agreement within days. On the other hand entertainment attorney Jonathan Handel, a frequent blogger on Hollywood's labor unrest, predicted that if no agreement between SAG and the studios/networks is reached by June 30, SAG negotiators are not likely to seek strike authorization. This because they may not be able to persuade 75 percent of their members that a strike could force the AMPTP to accept a better deal than the ones negotiated with AFTRA, the WGA, and the DGA.

Hellboy 2 was fun; i appreciate that Hellboy doesn't take himself too seriously; and, for sure that director has an amazing imagination... reminded me a lot of his work in Pan's Labyrinth
