The Wolfman, Robotech, TV DVD News, Thor, The Grays, Mike Fright, Comic Previews

The Wolfman

According to Ryan Rotten here at Shock Til You Drop, Rick Baker will return to the werewolf genre, to do make up for Benicio Del Toro in the remake of "The Wolfman." Production starts in December with director Mark Romanek, with the film opening November 14, 2008.

Robotech

The Hollywood Reporter says that Tobey Maguire will produce and possibly star in a film version of the anime "Robotech," for Warner Brothers. Craig Zahler will write the screenplay.

TV DVD News

TVShowsOnDVD.com has posted info about "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" (Out for Christmas?) here and "Prison Break" (Blu-Ray Sets) here, "Sergeant Preston of the Yukon" (Complete Series) here, "Wanted: Dead or Alive" (Season 3) here and "Land of the Giants" (One day sale) here.

Thor

Kevin McKidd has spoken about rumors that he will star in "Thor." He told SCI FI Wire: "Those reports are semi-true. I didn't know about it either until I heard the rumors and I called my agent. And he went, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah, we've been talking to them about it.' But the last I heard from my agent, they're talking that they want to go for somebody much younger, a 19- or 20-year-old, for that role. So they're reconceptualizing it as we speak." Matthew Vaughn will direct and he reportedly wants McKidd. If a younger actor were to play Thor, McKidd said he might still appear in the project: "I think there's the other main male character in that movie that I'm in consideration for. But, certainly by no means it's not in the bag or anything and, to be honest, until I read a script I don't really know. I haven't really had a look at a script. This is all still just information that's coming in. So, you know, it could be fun, but it just depends on what's on the page. I think it all starts and finishes with the quality of the script."

The Grays

Whitley Strieber has announced here on his personal site that director Wolfgang Petersen will direct a movie based on Streiber's "The Grays." Strieber says that Sony tapped Petersen to do the film, based on Strieber's account of his own alien abduction. Production begins in the next few months, and opens in the summer of 2008 or 2009

The Hacksaw, the Rose & the Parthenon Parrot
Sebastian Claus was known as an authority on supernatural activity, but, this was something neither he nor his extraordinary team had ever encountered: a book whose owners all died at the hands of fictional characters. Even when Paranormal P.I. Harriett Dante was brought into the case, nobody was aware of just how bizarre this was going to get. And if they don't solve this riddle, the world will end in fire!
