24 Storyline Dropped
TV Guide Online columnist Michael Ausiello reports that Fox has killed nearly the entire story line for next season's "24." The reason? Budget heavy plans for location shooting in Africa. Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe) said: "I don't know what's going on over there, but they're going crazy. . . . I don't think we're starting until a couple of weeks into August now. It's kind of exciting, because I think it means that they're really having to dig in there and come up with new stuff." BTW: Ausello is quoted here saying: "The Dresden Files" is "toast" (as in, will not be back).
Dracula Year Zero
Slice of SciFi says here that Alex Proyas will direct "Dracula Year Zero." They say: "Vlad was one of the first recorded persons to sell his soul over to Satan, however, he did so not for lust or greed, but to save his wife, family and his country. Because his deed was a selfless one, instead of spending eternity burning in the fire and brimstone of an eternal Hades, Vlad was cursed to walk the Earth forever as one of the living dead, taking for his food the blood of unsuspecting mortal humans."

"Desperately Seeking Susan" will become a stage musical that features the songs of Blondie and Deborah Harry. Peter Michael Marino's brainchild is to be directed by Angus Jackson and will start its run at the Novello Theatre on October 12. Harry has written a new song, "Moment Of Truth," just for the show.
