She-Hulk

SCI FI Wire reports that Nicolas Cage wants to produce "She-Hulk," starring Eva Mendes. He may have been joking around, but at a news conference he said: "That's what I want to do. I'm working on it. I am serious about She-Hulk, and I think it should be done. No, I don't want to direct it or necessarily even be in it.Can't you see her as the She-Hulk? I think she'd be great. I'm trying to put that together. I'm talking to Avi (Arad)." Cage turned to Mendes, who was seated beside him, and told her: "You in a bikini kicking a lot of ass, throwing cars. Awesome!"

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Speaking of Mr. Cage, Variety says that he and Todd Garner will produce the a live-action version of "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" as a potential starring vehicle for Cage. With a script by Lawrence Konner and Mark Rosenthal the story is the same one that formed the basis for the animated classic "Fantasia."

Ronin

Gianni Nunnari announced to IESB that his next project will be Frank Miller's "Ronin." Sylvain White is set to direct. Frank Miller described the work thus: "It's a superhero, science fiction, samurai drama, urban nightmare, gothic romance." "Ronin" is the story of a dishonored 13th-century samurai, reborn in a corrupt and computerized 21st century New York. The warrior has one last chance for redemption.

Boone's Lick

Barry Levinson, Tom Hanks and Julianne Moore are all in talks to make "Boone's Lick," based on the Larry McMurtry novel. It is the tale of a headstrong woman dragging her family from Boone's Lick, Missouri, to the Wyoming fort where her husband lives to tell him she's leaving him. Levinson would direct, Moore would play the woman and Hanks will play her husband's brother who escorts her on the journey and ends up falling in love with her. Diana Ossana wrote the adaptation.

Football Wives

Reuters is reporting that Lucy Lawless will play one of the leads in ABC's drama pilot "Football Wives." Based on the ITV hit "Footballers' Wive$," the American version shifts the meaning of football to the home team variety.
