Fantastic Four, Dark Shadows, Smallville, TV DVD News, Hitman 2, Frankenstien, Robocop, Comic Previews

Summer Vacation. Back in a few weeks.

Fantastic Four

Comic Book Resources links here to a report from the Licensing International Expo 2009, saying: "Then comes 2011, when the studios start to get serious about super heroes once more with the fourth installment of the 'Spider-Man'film series as well as 20th Century Fox's reboot of its 'Fantastic Four' film franchise. Which will reportedly feature an all-new cast as well as a far darker take on this classic Marvel comic." Of course, we need "darker" versions of everything, don't we?

Dark Shadows

Collider quotes Johnny Depp in this article saying this about his collaboration with Tim Burton on the 2011 remake/reboot: "'Dark Shadows' is happening. Tim is working on 'Alice in Wonderland' which is obviously quite a large piece of work there. So when Tim is done with 'Alice' and we get the script, which is very, very close, in order we'll probably attack it next year. It's exciting, very exciting. It's like a lifelong dream for me. I loved the show when I was a kid. I was obsessed with Barnabas Collins. I have photographs of me holding Barnabas Collins posters when I was five or six. I’m very excited to do it."

Smallville

ComicBookMovie has a story here that includes the casting of Collum Blue as the evil General Zod.

TV DVD News

TVShowsOnDVD.com has posted info about "Parker Lewis Can't Lose" (Season 1) here, "X-Men" (Vol. 3 & 4) here, "Ally McBeal" (Season 1) here, "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" (Complete Series) here, "Rescue Me" (Season 5, Vol. 1) here, "Route 66" (Season 3) here.

Hitman 2

IESB says here that the sequel will be written by Kyle Ward.

Frankenstein

SciFi Wire quotes Doug Jones in an interview here talking about the film (among other Guillermo del Toro projects he's involved with) and saying: "Guillermo did say to the press that he's already cast me as his monster, but we've yet to talk about it. But in his mind, if that's what he's decided, then it's done…It would be a dream come true."

Robocop

Ain't It Cool News is reporting here that despite rumors to the contrary, Darren Aronofsky is still directing the 2010 remake.
