The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn

Collider.com has a this video interview with Simon Pegg about the movie.

District 9

Empire Movies noted here the quiet opening last week of the movie, produced by Peter Jackson and directed by Neill Blomkamp. The movie tells of extraterrestrials come to Earth and are forced to live as refugees in South Africa. A trailer for the movie is available here at the official site. There's another poster here.

TV DVD News

TVShowsOnDVD.com has posted info about "Steve Canyon" (Vol. 2) here, "Monster Squad" (Complete Series) here, "Danny Phantom" (Season 3) here, "The Fairly OddParents" (Seasons 1 & 2) here, "Doctor Who" (3 Classics) here, "Adam-12" (Season 3) here.

Blood: The Last Vampire

Sci Fi Wire has posted here the first English language trailer for the live action adaptation of the Manga. This is their synopsis of the plot: "In the film, demons have infested the earth and only one warrior stands between the dark and the light: Saya, a half-human, half-vampire samurai who preys on those who feast on human blood. Joining forces with the shadowy society known as the Council, Saya is dispatched to an American military base, where an intense series of swordfights leads her to the deadliest vampire of all. And now, after 400 years, Saya's final hunt is about to begin." The film is set to open this summer.

Jekyll

Latino Review reports here that Universal will deliver a modern retelling of "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." Keanu Reeves will star, Nicolas Winding Refn is in talks to direct whle Justin Haythe is writing the script. The plot is being kept under wraps, as is the parallel 2012 production the studio is developing with Guillermo del Toro, who plans to stick more closely to the Stevenson period piece.

Conan

Empire Online says here that Joe Gatta told them that Brett Ratner will NOT be directing the film. Gatta said: "We're currently in the process of hiring a director. For the past six months we were discussing the movie with Brett Ratner, and for more timing issues than anything else we had to part ways with Brett. We all wanted him to do it, believe me; just the timing didn’t work. But you never know what can happen. We have a potential start-date on Conan of August 24. And we'll be shooting in Bulgaria. I would say though the emphasis is on Conan [rather than 2010 project Red Sonja]. It's our crown jewel here at the company and that will be the leader. Red Sonja probably won't happen until next year, as far as making it goes. So we want to launch Conan and reinvent the franchise. We'll have an open casting call: as soon as we hire our director the search is on." CHUD says here that the new director is James McTeigue.
