Wanted 2

Here on Mark Millar's message board we find why Evan Spiliotopoulos will write the sequel. Millar said: "Never listen to any commentators as they never know anything about who's coming back, etc. It's just speculation and 99% of the time these guys don't have access to the people who know. 'Wanted 2' is being made in a very tight circle at the moment. As a producer on the thing, I'm excited. I know who's in it and after doing 342 million at the box office we have [serious] money to spend on everything from cast to crew to script. This guy is supposed to be really good. He did a GREAT action script recently [on an unproduced movie] and that's what got him this gig."

Spider-Man 4

Here at SliceofSciFi.com director Sam Raimi (who talked Tobey Maguire into returning to the Spider-Man series for another film) talks about trying to do the sam thing with Kristen Dunst. Raimi said: "I'm hoping that she is going to come aboard, and I've got a meeting coming up with her. I think she would like to. But I don't want to speak on behalf of her." And, while we're at it, who's going to be the villain? "I don't have that. I don't have just some ideas written down, but I said that last month, and there was a very negative reaction from the fans: 'Why does he keep talking about that movie? Where is that movie?' It's just because people ask me, but I don't really have anything at all worked out right now." This film's release date is May 6, 2011.

Scarpetta

ComingSoon.net reports here that that Fox 2000 that they are developing Patricia Cornwell's 16 book series about an opera loving medical examiner Dr. Kay Scarpetta as a vehicle for Angelina Jolie. They say that this first film won't be a specific book, but they do hope for a franchise.

TV DVD News

TVShowsOnDVD.com has posted info about "The Mentalist" (Season 1) here, "Fringe" (Season 1) here, "Supernatural" (Season 4) here, "Battlestar Galactica" (Complete Series) here, "The Big Bang Theory" (Season 2) here, "Chuck" (Season 2) here.

The Lost Symbol

Variety reports that Dan Brown's third Robert Langdon adventure will go into production soon - even though the book has yet to be published and the plot is unknown ( though Freemasons are expected to be somehow involved). The book will be released on September 15, 2009.

C.S.I.

The BBC tells us here that a feature film version is in production. William Peterson said: "I can understand people are a little trepidatious because of the franchise around the world and how well it's doing. Usually people leave it till a series has finished - they did that with The X-Files and Sex And The City. But it's about finding the right story. There has got to be a real reason to do it. You don't just do it because you want to make money; you do it because there's a story that can't be told on TV and needs to be told from CSI's perspective and the audience wants it. And we can't wait for CSI to end or Grissom will be about 90."

Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula

My pal, Todd Norris, was the director of photography and editor, and his work will always be worth looking at, so you should go see it. The Kansas City premeire is Thursday, April 23 at 7:15pm at Kansas City Film Fest at the AMC Mainstreet. That's at 14th & Main, K.C. Mo.. Here is the official site and here is the trailer.
