Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Comic Book Resources News has posted links here to where director Edgar Wright has posted two new set photos from the Oni Press adaptation. One here and the other here. The 2010 film stars Michael Cera and Brandon Routh. You can also check out his video blogs here at Shock Ya Movies.

Pirates!

The Hollywood Reporter says here that Sony Pictures and Aardman Animations are joining for two animated features: "Arthur Christmas" and "Pirates!" Aardman co-founder Peter Lord will be behind the camera for "Pirates!" for the hand-crafted stop-motion animation, while "Christmas" is going to be wholly in CGI."Pirates!" will be based on the "The Pirates! (in an Adventure with Scientists)," series of books by Gideon Defoe. The tale is of a group of pirates coming to London meeting Charles Darwin and a talking chimp named Mister Bobo. Then they encounter someone who wants to wipe them out. "Christmas," is about the question of how Santa delivers all those presents in one night. Sarah Smith and Barry Cook are directing the script by Peter Baynham. Lord said: "It's incredibly exciting to be moving forward on these two movies. The most important elements of any animated film are story and character, and we believe that in these films, we have characters to charm and stories to delight and engage."

The Eclipse

Reuters is reporting here that the Tribeca Festival featured film is now the subject of a bidding war between Lionsgate, Magnolia Pictutes and Roadside Attractions. Playwright Conor McPherson created the project about a recently widowed man [Ciaran Hinds] in a seaside Irish town who believes he is seeing ghosts and the relationship he develops with a visiting horror novelist [Iben Hjejle]. Aidan Quinn plays an American writer trying to win Hjejle's affections.

TVShowsOnDVD.com has posted info about "This American Life" (Season 2) here, "The Middleman" (Complete Series) here, "Hotel" (Season 1) here, "Sergeant Preston of the Yukon" (Season 2) here, "Red Dwarf" (Back to Earth) here, "Flash Gordon" (Complete Series) here.

Beastly

Empire Movies tells us here that the lead role in the 2010 adaptation of the Alex Flinn fantasy novel will be taken by Vanessa Hudgens. The story tells of a 17-year-old who is hideously transformed in order to find true romance. Beauty is the Beastly maybe?

Jonah Hex

Here is where MovieGab.net has posted this and other pictures of Megan Fox as a Wild West Lady of the Evening. Might be worth a look.

Videodrome

CHUD reports here that Universal wants to remake the film (with no Cronenberg involvement) with a script by Ehren Kruger. Daniel Bobker is set to co-write and produce. The film will modernize the concept, infusing it with nano-technology and now it becomes a large-scale sci-fi action thriller.
