Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian, The Addams Family, TV DVD News, Wonder Woman, Sixteen Candles Sequel, Comic Previews

Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian

The sequel, currently shooting in Vancouver, has added a few familiar names to the cast, including Christopher Guest (Ivan the Terrible), Jon Bernthal (Al Capone), Bill Hader (Gen. George Armstrong Custer), Hank Azaria (Kah Mun Rah), Amy Adams (Amelia Earhart) and Alain Chabat (Napoleon). Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon, who wrote both films, will play the Wright brothers in a cameo. The film, directed by Shawn Levy, brings back Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Ricky Gervais and Owen Wilson.

The Addams Family

Variety reports that Nathan Lane has signed to play Gomez Addams in the Broadway musical version, set to open next year. Bebe Neuwirth will play Morticia.

Wonder Woman

Though the live action feature film is still on hold for at least another couple of years, The World's Finest has posted this about information for the upcoming animated "Wonder Woman" direct-to-video film. Cast, so far, seems to include: Keri Russell as Wonder Woman, Nathan Fillion as Col. Steve Trevor, Alfred Molina as Ares, Virginia Madsen as Hippolyta, and Rosario Dawson as Artemis. "Wonder Woman," the fourth DC Universe direct-to-video animated feature, is scripted by Michael Jelenic and directed by Lauren Montgomery, and will be based on the legendary 1987 George Perez relaunch. The movie, rated PG-13, will be available Spring 2009.

Sixteen Candles Sequel

And 24 years ago Molly Ringwald and John Hughes made the first of a string of collaborations. Now Ringwald wants Hughes to make a sequel to the 1984 teen movie "Sixteen Candles." Hughes is resistant. Ringwald said to AOL Television: "It was something that I definitely wanted to do, but John Hughes wasn't interested, and I didn't feel comfortable doing it without his involvement. If we can get John to agree, I think it would be great. I think there are definitely a lot of people who would love to see it, and I would love to do it. I think that Sixteen Candles lends itself to (a sequel). It was such a Cinderella story. And I was interested to see what happened to this girl."

Speaking of Bebe Neuwirth, this week over at The Judy Garland Experience on Yahoo, they are featuring a recording of the 1998 Carnegie Hall salute to Judy. Lorna Luft sings and co-hosts the event with Robert Stack. other performers include Gogi Grant, Jerry Herman, Vicki Carr, Wesla Whitfield, Nancy Dussault, Jerry Maren, Bebe Neuwirth, Robert Morse, and others.
Everyone performs and offers up their memories or feelings about Judy.
Next week the second night of the concert will be posted (with a whole new all star line up).
And of course, the experience features all sorts of other aural rarities and treats.
The Judy Garland Experience is one of the largest and most exciting Judy Garland groups on the web. There is always an interesting discussion and game going on (some of the games even have good prizes). Our photo section features some of the rarest and most candid pictures of Judy anywhere, many of the taken by group members.
Please stop by and check out The Judy Garland Experience.
