Shazam!, Watchmen, Will Eisner's The Spirit, TV DVD News, Justice League of America, Family Guy, Mike Fright, Comic Previews


Shazam!

MTV Movie News says here that the man known for the quizzically raised eyebrow is talking to the makers of the upcoming "Shazam!" That eyebrow may be raise because he doesn't really know what role he is being considered to play. Darryl "The Rock" Johnson told MTV.com: "Shazam, of course, I would love to play. They approached me about Captain Marvel and villain Black Adam as well. We've been meeting for months. We're toying with either one. I think it's up to the fans, very specifically because they are passionate about the comic book, about the history and mythology of the character. They will be very vocal."




Watchmen

Zack Snyder, on the offical Warner Brothers website has posted a video diary for "Watchmen." To see the video (You'll need Quicktime), click here. The film will hit theaters March 6, 2009.



Will Eisner's The Spirit

When production starts in October in New Mexico, Sarah Paulson will be a part of the cast of the Frank Miller directed "Will Eisner's The Spirit." Playing the police commisioner's (Dan Lauria) daughter and the Spirit's (Gabriel Macht) true love, Dr. Ellen Dolan, Paulson joins Samuel L. Jackson as the villain "The Octopus," Scarlett Johansson and Eva Mendes. Lionsgate plans to release the film in 2009.

Justice League of America

For the Warner Brothers' film "Justice League of America" Jessica Biel is in negotiations to play Wonder Woman. for Warner Bros. George Miller is directing the movie from a script by Kieran and Michele Mulroney. Warners declined to comment about the casting, saying that they prefer to announce an entire cast rather than individual deals. Family Guy

TV Week posted here that "Family Guy" producers, because of the episode "Blue Harvest," which parodied "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope," will do a follow-up special spoofing "The Empire Strikes Back." In fact, the article says, Star Wars spoofs could become an annual event.
