The Year of Fog, Beowulf, Blood on the Leaves, TV DVD News, Daybreakers, Mike Fright, Comic Previews

The Year of Fog

Variety reports that Newmarket Films has picked up the rights to the Michelle Richmond novel "The Year of Fog." Semi Chellas will adapt the story of a young woman whose fiance's child vanishes when she momentarily looks away to take a photograph.

Beowulf

IMAX Corp. announced that the Robert Zemeckis film will be released in IMAX 3-D domestically, simultaneously with its premiere in conventional theaters on Nov. 16.

Blood on the Leaves

The Hollywood Reporter says Jamie Foxx has been cast in Paramount's "Blood on the Leaves." Based on the 2004 Jeff Stetson novel, the story tells of a district attorney who must deal with his feelings of revenge as he prosecutes a black history professor on trial for the murders of white men who are, in turn, accused of crimes against blacks during the Civil Rights movement.

TV DVD News

TVShowsOnDVD.com has posted news about a lot of animated TV stuff, like "The Littles" (Complete series) here, "Josie and the Pussycats" (press release) here, "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" (2002 series) here, "Voltron: Defender of the Universe" (Collection 5) here and "Superman: The Animated Series" (Doomsday) here.

Daybreakers

Ethan Hawke will join Willem Dafoe in a vampire role. The actor said: "I'm going to make a vampire picture and I'm going to chew on some necks. Willem Dafoe and I are dulling (duelling?) vampires. It's a vampire movie set way in the future where everyone is a vampire and we're all eating our own resources, so we're trying to get off on foreign humans. We're trying to get off of trying to create blood substitutes. It's a big analogy about what's going on now. It's really dark and weird and everybody's sucking each other's blood."
