Doctor Who, The Dresden Files, A Christmas Carol, Bullitt, Sex in the City, Mike Fright, Comic Previews


Doctor Who

The BBC has announced that Catherine Tate will play the Doctor's newest companion in the upcoming fourth season of "Doctor Who." Tate played the role of Donna, the runaway bride from the 2006 Christmas special, and will recreate that role for the complete 13-week run of the new season, which will start filming in Cardiff, Wales, later this month. Freema Agyeman, who played Martha Jones in the third season, will return the middle of the coming season. The third season of "Doctor Who" will begin on SCI FI Channel in the United States on July 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.




The Dresden Files

Slice of SciFi says here that "The Dresden Files" may be moving its filming location from Vancouver and Montreal to Edmonton when shooting starts in the fall. "The Dresden Files," a show about a P.I. who uses the magic is supposed to take place in Chicago, Illinois in the United States.



A Christmas Carol

According to this story in Empire Online, Jim Carrey is to star in Robert Zemeckis' "A Christmas Carol." The news from Bob Hoskins, who may play Mr. Fezziwig, is that the film will use the same motion-capture technology that Zemeckis used in "The Polar Express" and his upcoming "Beowulf" starring Angelina Jolie.



Bullitt

Brad Pitt has been cast as the star of the remake of "Bullitt." Pitt plays Lt. Frank Bullitt, originally played Steve McQueen. The movie is about a San Francisco cop hunting down a hitman who killed his fellow officers and contained one of the best car chase scenes in the history of movies.



Sex in the City

Empire Movies says here that fans of HBO's long-running series, "Sex in the City," will getting their wish as the show is made into a movie. The film will star the show's main players - Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon and will be directed by by Michael Patrick King, who also penned the script.
