Shrek Rejected
The Associated Press reports that a the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood has requested (as they posted here) that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to drop Shrek from his role as spokesman for an anti-obesity drive because "Shrek The Third" has too many promotional ties with unhealthy foods. The ad campaign itself is about exercise, and one of the spots can be seen here on Youtube.
Wolverine
Superhero Hype reports that the Hugh Jackman film (with script by David Benioff) has issued notices for casting. Here is their reprinting of the Casting Release: "Casting FEATURE FILM "X-Men - Wolverine" w/Hugh Jackman. Seeking: [Males and Females] all ages and types . . . Having a DEMO REEL is a HUGE PLUS. Kindly read the Plot Summary to get ideas . . .Submission Deadline: 08-30-2007" The film is scheduled for a 2008 release.
The Un-Dead
BlackFilm reports that Javier Bardem, Monica Bellucci and John Hurt are in talks to join the upcoming Dracula movie, "The Un-Dead." Directed by Ernest Dickerson the film sees Dracula (Bardem), Lucy (Bellucci) and Van Helsing (Hurt), 25 years after Bram Stoker's novel. The screenplay by Ian Holt also added an Inspector Cotford, a character edited from Stoker's manuscript prior to publication.

Queen Latifah is set to star in a remake of the Carl Reiner directed, Steve Martin-Lily Tomlin starring comedy "All of Me." This time, instead of a dying spoiled heiress (Tomlin) whose soul ends up in the body of a lawyer (Martin), a female liberal finds herself in the body of a conservative.
