Tron: Legacy

SciFi Wire says here that Disney has put a release date of Dec. 17, 2010 for the 3D sequel. That will put it into the market across from several films, some highly anticipated, some just going to be released. Among those films are "The Green Hornet," "Yogi Bear" & "The Smurfs." (Go Tron, Kill Smurfs!) Here is the Comic-Con Official Trailer.

MTV News spoke here with Top Cow president Matt Hawkins about the status of the film, based on the comic book by Joshua Hale Fialkov and Jeremy Haun. Hawkins said: "We've been looking for writers. I'm actually really excited about it. These guys are all A-list, studio-level guys, and I've been reading their samples and talking to some of them about their takes. [We're] just waiting for the take we agree on, and then we're going to get the script written and try and get the movie made."

The Book of Eli

You Tube has posted this official trailer from the Denzel Washington - Gary Oldman end of the world drama. The film, whose official site is here, will open on on January 15, 2010.

TV DVD News has posted info about "Iron Man: Armored Adventures" (Vol. 1) here, "Mental" (Complete Series) here, "Mystery Science Theater 3000" (Vol. XVI) here, "Vega$" (Season 1, Vol. 1) here,"Monk" (Best of . . .) here, "Red Dwarf" (Back to Earth: The Director's Cut) here.

Flash Forward

SlashFilm tells us here that the David Goyer show, that has been described as 24 meets Lost, will be premiering on September 24th and is based on the Robert J. Sawyer novel, that posits a day when all of humanity passes out for 2 minutes and 17 seconds. During that blackout, everyone sees their future, 6 months down the road. ScreenRant has posted this clip of the pilot preview.

Entertainment Weekly says here that Kristin Kreuk will be joining the cast of the NBC show this season.

The Road

Variety reports here that the film, held off the market by the Weinsteins for nearly a year, is ready for release. The MovieRambler site has posted these clips from the film, which will be opening on October 16, 2009.

Special thanks to Movie for so many of the dynamite movie posters we use from time to time. You cannot find a better place to run down those new or classic posters.
