Popeye

Worst Previews confirms here that Ari Arad has gained the writes to the character and plans a CGI animated feature.



The Green Lantern

The Nuke the Fridge website spoke here with "Deadpool" co-creator Rob Liefield who has been in on a lot of FX news for the 2011 film. The said that Liefield said that over one-third of the movie is set on Oa, the home world of the Green Lanterns. Remember, this is third person and not directly quoted, so take it however you choose to take it. Liefield has tweeted that he knows Ryan Reynolds is still doing the lead in both films.



Venom

Sci-Fi Wire has this interview with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick about their script(s) for the off shoot of the Spider-Man franchise. They said: "We've written two drafts of Venom, and the studio has it, and they're pushing forward in whatever ways they push forward." Will it be a cross over with "Spider-Man 4" or in anyway related, and which will come out first in 2011? They answered: "We can't really talk about that, unfortunately. Basically, the studio and Marvel and the Arads are taking our drafts and going beyond and figuring out what's the next step."

Sweet Valley High

Slash Film reports here that Diablo Cody has been hired to adapt at least one 2012 film based on the tweeny book series.



Xombie: Reanimated

The Hollywood Reporter says here that Dreamworks is negotiating with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to produce the Devil's Due Publishing comic (Adapted from the flash based web series which is available on DVD) into a 2010 live action feature film. Script will be by Will Beall.



The Avengers

MTV Splashpage spoke here with Edward Norton about the Hulk joining the 2012 confabulation of heroes. Norton said: "In the comics, there was always a tension between the rest of the superhero community and he was always this problem… They treated him as this problem. I think that's a fun way to go with it."
