Green Lantern, 24, TV DVD News, Nightmare on Elm Street, Iron Man 2, Comic Previews

Green Lantern

After reading the "Lensmen" novels, then getting hooked on the DC comics as a kid, I can tell you that this is another of the projects that is dear to my heart and they had better not screw this up. Now, MTV spoke to Chris Pine who confirmed here
that he is negotiating to play Hal Jordan, but hasn't seen a script. Pine said: "
I had a meeting with [casting director] Pam Dixon and [executive producer] Donald De Line, but a meeting was all it was. I have not been offered squat. I do not have the part and haven't read a script." The film is to be directed by Martin Campbell and released on December 10, 2010.

24

Coming Soon.net has posted here that Anil Kapoor will become a regular in the show's 8th season. Kapoor will play a Middle Eastern leader who comes to the U.S. on a peacemaking mission.

TV DVD News

TVShowsOnDVD.com has posted info about "The Universe" (Season 3) here, "Psych" (Season 3) here, "Monk" (Season 7) here, "Everwood" (Season 2) here, "All in the Family" (Norman Lear Collection) here, "Pushing Daisies" (Season 2) here.

Nightmare on Elm Street
Bloody Disgusting reports here that it is nearly a done deal (and several sources say it is already signed), after "Watchmen," that Jackie Earle Hailey will play Freddy Kruger in the remake of the 1984 film. The film will come out on April 16th, 2010.

Iron Man 2

Trailer Addict.com has an interview here with Robert Downey Jr. about the War Machine character. Dopwney says: "Don Cheadle [is] now playing Rhodey, and therefore War Machine. The film is almost entirely about character, and yet we still have twice as much action as we did last time, so it's going to be nuts. Essentially 'Iron Man 2' is about looking behind the armor, or the armature, of a superhero. It's one thing to say you're 'Iron Man,' it's another thing to be fully ready to do that. We’re going for the interim space [between the origin story and 'Demon in a Bottle'], which is more a look behind the mask of someone who says he's Iron Man and what it really is to become a superhero." Production on the film begins today, with a May 7, 1020 release.
