The Spirit, Fantastic Four 3, TV DVD News, Rashomon, Astro Boy, Comic Previews

The Spirit

All I can say is that I have real reservations about this film. Every trailer or still I see looks more like a Frank Miller film than anything to do with Will Eisner. I like Miller, but I want Denny Colt to be the one that Eisner created.

Fantastic Four 3

Michael Chiklis said this to MTV: "No one's really given it the kibosh to me, but the silence has been deafening. The fact that no one's mentioned it or asked a question says that, more than likely, that's not going to happen. I know that both of them were tremendously successful from a box office standpoint, but we've all moved on into other areas and other films."

TV DVD News

TVShowsOnDVD.com has posted info about "Ben 10: Alien Force" (Season 1, Vol. 2) here, "The Powerpuff Girls" (Collector's Set) here, "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" (Season 1) here, "The Dog Whisperer" (Celebrity Edition) here, " Mind of Mencia" (Season 4) here, "Popeye" (Vol. 3) here and "Spider-Woman" (Vs. The Fly) here.

Rashomon

Akira Kurosawa's "Rashomon" is in line for a 2010 remake. Contemporized and set in America the film will come from companies Harbor Light and Lotus, (who also plan an animated version of Kurosawa's unproduced "The Masque of Black Death").

Astro Boy

The feature film will open in theaters on October 23, 2009. Rob Friedman, Co-Chairman and CEO of Summit Entertainment, said: "We are pleased to bring the exceptional world of Astro Boy to the big screen for movie-goers in North America. We have lined up some key marketing partners for the film and our October date allows us to put the film out at the right time enabling our partners to reach their targeted audiences with on-going marketing programs tied to the film."
