The Dark Knight Sequel, Dracula: Year Zero, TV DVD News, Doctor Who: USA, Facebook, Comic Previews

The Dark Knight Sequel

What about those rumors of Cher as Catwoman and Johnny Depp as the Riddler? Chuck Roven, Producer for Warner Brothers, told The Hollywood Reporter here that it is doubtful, then he said: "There are a lot of us who emotionally would love to do it. But it's really Chris' [Nolan] call. [Nolan is on vacation] Chris is the kind of film-maker who just doesn't think about the next movie before he has completely finished the movie he is working on. When he comes back, we will see how he feels."

Dracula: Year Zero

Alex Proyas would be directing the film and recently spoke with MTV and said: "It's sort of the origin tale that mixes [the historical] Prince Vlad of Transylvania with sort of [fictionalized] Bram Stoker [take]." What sort of mythology will still be included? "Stakes and teeth, and lots and lots of blood! [He thinks that] The garlic thing is kind of weird. I mean, the teeth are really important. I think Frank Langella in the Dracula movie that was made in the 70s, I think he didn’t want to have teeth in the movie. But, no, I like the teeth. I want to see girls with a lot of teeth."

TV DVD News

TVShowsOnDVD.com has posted info about "Heroes" (Cell Phone Extras) here, "Family Guy" (Stewie Head) here, "The 4400" (Complete Series) here, "Star Trek" (Alternate Realities) here, "C.S.I." (Season 8) here, "Charlie Brown/Peanuts Specials" (You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown) here and "I Dream of Jeannie" (Complete Series) here.

Doctor Who: USA

The rumors are rampant that two of the proposed three specials for 2009 are to be filmed in the United States. News of the World quotes a BBC source as saying said that such a move is because of the show's popularity in the United States (where it's shown on Sci Fi Channel & BBC America). The first (and only time) such a thing was done was in 1996, when a "Doctor Who" film was shot in Vancouver, B.C. as well as San Francisco. The source said: "Two specials in America, with a U.S. setting and U.S. assistant, will take it to another level. David Tennant is already gaining a huge following and this will make him really hot property."

Facebook

Aaron Sorkin is poised to make a film about the founders of social networking website Facebook. Sorkin said on his web page: "I figured a good first step in my preparation would be finding out what Facebook is, so I've started this page. If anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to answer them as best I can. If anyone has any comments, I'm glad to listen. I have a fairly specific idea of what the first 15 pages of the screenplay will be and no idea what will happen on pages 16 through 130. I have very strong feelings about the internet and its effect on our national culture, but frankly those feelings are being countered by the sophistication, kindness, curiosity and wit of the posts in this site." Facebook was founded in 2004 and has in excess of 100 million users worldwide.
