Nottingham

Sienna Miller will play Maid Marion across from Russell Crowe in the Ridley Scott directed "Nottingham," for Universal. Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer is producing. In this version of the Robin Hood legend, Crowe stars plays the Sheriff of Nottingham as a more noble lawman who faces a darker Robin Hood. Miller spoke herethe BBC, saying: "It's happening. I just found out. It's the most exciting news in the world. It's ridiculous. But there's this looming actor's strike, so it's not 100% sure that it's going to be made, but it's looking pretty certain."

Conan

IGN Movies said here that their secret source advised them that while no directors have been signed as yet, screenwriters Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer are doing their contractual rewrite of the first draft on the 2009 film. Sources also say that the success of the multiplayer online role-playing game Age of Conan - Hyborian Adventures was what convinced film executives of the strength of the character's fanbase.

Hancock

W Magazine posted some comments here from their interview with Charlize Theron, who said: "[Will] said that there's this idea within the industry where you do your independent film that's made for under $2 million, it's a struggle and then you win your Academy Award for that, because that's your best work. And then you do what's considered these kind of sellout roles in the big blockbusters. And he's like, 'Why can't we do the best work in a big movie that can be a blockbuster?'"

The Silver Surfer

J. Michael Straczynski said here in the AMC TV blog about the screenplay: "I was writing it as 'FF2' was about to come out, and the theory was for it to pick up literally the next frame after the 'FF2' movie, where you find out why Silver Surfer was there and what happened to him. We would have seen Galactus, his home world, what happened and him trying to get back there, because now that he's betrayed Galactus, he's concerned his home world might be in jeopardy. In the script I come up with some ways to visualize him that are true to the original, but take it one step further using the current CGI technology that we have. So we would have seen him as a character on numerous occasions in the second movie, not inconsistent with the first distant shot of him in that that's just a way of concealing who and what he really is. Believe me, he would be not at all silly looking."
