Timecrimes, Dark Fields, TV DVD News, Iron Man, FCC Fines, Comic Previews



Timecrimes

The Spanish science fiction film "Timecrimes" has been a hit at festivals around the world. The story tells of a man who travels back and forth through time trying to prevent a crime. The Hollywood Reporter says that Timothy J. Sexton has been hired by United Artists to adapted an English language version.



Dark Fields

Variety reports that Shia LaBeouf has joined the cast of the Neil Burger directed Universal film. Based on Alan Glynn's 2002 novel "The Dark Fields," which tells of a young man who comes into possession of the ultimate smart pill and the events that ensue. Leslie Dixon has adapted the screenplay and will produce.



TV DVD News

Iron Man

Jon Favreau has been quoted as saying that the movie will appeal to everyone, not just die-hard fans of the comic book. He said: "I don't think it matters. There's enough going on in the movie and enough going on with the cast that people are going to give it a shot regardless of whether they know about it or not." Sequels? "I don't know what the deals are, but certainly we spoke creatively about what the first three movies would be. I think we're all into it and would love to do it together."


FCC Fines

The Federal Communications Commission plans to fine Sears, Wal-Mart, Circuit City and four other retailers because they have not been informing customers that the analog TV sets they were buying would not receive signals from over-the-air stations after February 17, 2009.
