Interstellar, Nancy Drew 2, Li & The Chinese Mummy, Another YouTube Challenge, Mike Fright, Comic Preview



Interstellar

Variety reports that Paramount will have Jonah Nolan write the script for Steven Spielberg's "Interstellar." An exploration of physicist Kip Thorne's theories of gravity fields, wormholes and several hypotheses that Albert Einstein was never able to prove, the story is said to involve explorers who travel through a worm hole and into another dimension. 2009 is the proposed release date for the movie.




Nancy Drew 2

The first film won't het the theaters till June 15th, and yet producers are putting together a sequel to director Andrew Fleming's "Nancy Drew" with Emma Roberts in the title role. Fleming will also return to direct.



Li & The Chinese Mummy

The Hollywood Reporter says that Jet Li is in talks to play the villain in the third of the "Mummy" films. Li would play the mummified monster who is centered in China. The story is secret, but we have been told that the film would begin in ancient times before switching to a post World-War II setting. And at lease one scene would also involve the terracotta warriors, the collection of several thousand men and their horses that were originally constructed to protect the tomb of a Qin dynasty emperor.



Another YouTube Challenge

The Los Angeles Times reported that NBC Universal and News Corp have announced that they are creating a video-sharing service to challenge Google's YouTube. The service will be integrated into the Yahoo!, MSN, AOL, and MySpace websites, providing TV shows, movies, and user-generated material. YouTube limits the length of uploads to ten minutes, the new service will feature full length movies and television shows from 20th Century Fox, the Fox TV network, NBC, and Universal Pictures, plus programs from their cable subsidiaries.
